Dear Colleagues,
Registration for ICJS 1 is now open.
We invite you to attend the First International
Conference on Jambi Studies to be held from November 21-24, 2013 in Jambi,
Sumatra, Indonesia. 250 word abstracts
are due by June 1. The selection committee will provide notification of the
accepted abstracts by June 15. Completed papers are due by November 1. Papers
not provided by this date will not be included in the ICJS 1 Proceedings.
ICJS 1 is to be the first international academic
gathering in Jambi on issues relevant to Jambi Studies and Malay Heritage.
Organized by Seloko Journal, Dewan Kesenian Jambi (The Arts Council of Jambi or DKJ), the
conference is intended to provide an international forum for research on Jambi
as the origin of Malay culture. The call for papers is open for any research
relevent to the history, art and culture, religion and social change of the
region. Please send your abstract in by
June 1 to: icjs12013@gmail.com. The official language for abstract will be in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

Please also use the attached forms if you would like
to register as a participant. DKJ intends to publish the proceedings both as
individual articles were relevant in the Seloko Journal and separately as a
proceedings of collected papers. Seloko is a new Indonesian journal which has
been created in order to support the publication of emerging research on Jambi
Studies. For information on this
